Conversation Starter Workshop

A gentle, structured workshop that gives families the prompts and vocabulary to hold calm household planning conversations. It is designed for families navigating change — a move, a new family member, a shift in responsibilities — who want to talk things through in an organised way but are not sure how to begin. There is no advice, only well-tested frameworks and a take-home prompt set to keep the conversations going at home.

How the workshop runs

Welcome and framing — We introduce the session format and the educational boundary clearly, so everyone knows what to expect.

Glossary walkthrough — Key household planning vocabulary is introduced and discussed, with practical examples.

Take-home handover — Each participant leaves with their prompt set and a note of any official channels relevant to topics raised.

Initial overview — Coach and family discuss what types of documents are in the household and what the main pain points are.

Category mapping — Documents are sorted into broad categories using the Roostwell index framework, with the family doing the physical sorting.

Checklist building — A personal checklist is created together, noting what is present, what might be missing, and what to review regularly.

Next steps guidance — The coach identifies any document types that may need professional attention and signposts the relevant official channels.

Typical duration: 2–3 hours per visit. Follow-up visits available separately.
